About the Position
- Title: Senior CNC/Setup/Programming Machinist (Level II)
- Location: Magnus Precision Manufacturing | 1912 Route 96, Phelps, NY 14532
- Type: Full-time (40 hours)
- Schedule: B Shift, Monday–Thursday, 4:15 PM - 2:45 AM
- Pay Range: Hourly rate $20.00 - $30.00 based on experience
- Collaboration: Does not manage others, will report to the team lead, and regularly collaborates with team members including machinists, quality and engineering.
- Position Summary: A level II machinist is working on a variety of parts from new and complex parts to well established parts/procedures using a variety of machines, materials and tight tolerances to meet our high quality standards. Duties may include but are not limited to:
- Performs general supervision as directed by the Team Leader.
- Assist Team Leader in scheduling.
- Trains others within the group.
- Responsible for quality, quantity and safety.
- Sets up, programs and runs new jobs, including complex parts not run before.
- May act as a liaison between customer/purchasing/engineering and outside groups.
- Able to maintain equipment/machines.
- Assists in implementation of quality programs.
- Knowledgeable and/or experienced in CAD/CAM.
- Keeps accurate records.
- Ensures work areas are kept clean.
- Will perform other duties as directed.
- Relevant AS9100 competencies as defined by QL-7200 Training Matrix.
- You must have... CNC machining experience including operation and setup, machine maintenance/troubleshooting, ability to read drawings/blueprints and measure parts, and an understanding of quality procedures.
- You could also have... Experience with metal parts, aerospace machining, working with high tolerances, programming (CAD/CAM), the ability to or experience training others, and a general understanding of 5S, ISO, AS9100 and/or ITAR procedures.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- All candidates should be motivated, reliable, accountable and a good team player with a desire to learn.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S., and able to pass pre-employment (drug screen, fit-for-duty exam, and background check).
