The CNC Machinist (Level II or III):
Location: Magnus Precision Manufacturing | 1912 Route 96, Phelps, NY 14532 | In person, no remote/hybrid
*Our clean, organized, and air-conditioned shop ensures a comfortable work environment year-round.
Schedule: Full-time (40 hours) | Currently hiring for A Shift: Monday–Thursday, 6:00 AM–4:30 PM
*Our 4-day schedule offers work/life balance with a 3-day weekend or optional overtime on Fridays when available.
Pay Range: Hourly rate $20.00 - $30.00 based on experience
Collaboration: Does not manage others, will report to the team lead, and regularly collaborates with team members including machinists, quality and engineering.
Position Summary: Machinists are classified by level with varied duties based on skill level of the individual and production needs.
- Level II is often working on new and complex parts or procedures, may assist team leader with scheduling, training etc.
- Level III is setting up and programming jobs while operating several machines, maintaining machines and may assist with training.
- All machinists work with a variety of machines, materials and tolerances to meet high standards, adhere to quality procedures, maintain accurate records, keep the work area clean and perform other duties as directed.
Qualifications: Currently seeking an experienced machinist to join the team.
- Required: Experience machining metal parts including operation and setup, ability to read drawings/blueprints and measure parts, with a general understanding of quality procedures.
- Preferred: Experience with programming, aerospace machining, working with high tolerances, the ability to or experience training others, and a general understanding of 5S, ISO, AS9100 and/or ITAR procedures.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and a focus on long-term commitment.
- A desire to contribute to our culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must be able to complete pre-employment which includes drug screen, physical, background check and authorization to work in the US.
